Fim Rental Clerk (Youth Position)

Job Overview:
WAMP is seeking a motivated Film Rental Clerk to support the day-to-day operations of its film and media equipment library. This role focuses on maintaining an organized, efficient, and accessible inventory system while supporting rentals and production needs within the community. The position offers hands-on experience with professional equipment, digital rental platforms, and industry workflows in a creative, arts-focused environment. This position is supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Position Details:

  • Dates: June 1 – July 24 (8 weeks)
  • Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Wage: $25/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate equipment check-outs and returns, ensuring accurate tracking thorough EZ Rent Out
  • Organize, label, and maintain inventory to keep the equipment room orderly and functional
  • Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of film and media equipment
  • Manage the online rental and e-commerce platform, including maintaining up-to-date records
  • Verify that renters are active members in good standing
  • Develop and implement organizational tools such as equipment catalogues, inventory lists, and workflow guides
  • Support the implementation of a barcode tracking system for improved inventory control and capital asset management
  • Liaise with the NWT Film Commission to stay informed about local productions and help anticipate equipment needs

Qualifications:

  • Youth applicant with an interest in film, media, or technical operations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable using computers and digital platforms
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in a hands-on environment
