A Place Called Home

“Dawson had all kinds of characters. I’m beginning to think I’m one.” - 97 year old Betty.

Place Called Home tells the story of how a small, remote northern community captured a woman’s heart and never let her go.

97 year old Betty St. Jean, a one-of-a-kind character, left Dawson City, Yukon in 1944, yet she still calls Dawson home. Her memories are as alive as if lived yesterday — of colourful characters and a unique way of life for a special breed of individuals. A place where hardship and self-reliance pull people together in a way that is both endearing and enduring.
