These terms cover your use of wamp.ca, the website of Western Arctic Moving Pictures (WAMP), a membership-based non-profit arts organization in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. By using the site you agree to them. They're short and in plain language, and the parts that matter most are about buying things (which happens on other services) and using what we publish.
What this site is for
wamp.ca is where we share news about our programs, list our screenings, workshops and the Yellowknife International Film Festival, post job openings, and give you ways to reach us. Anyone can browse it. A few things, like buying passes or renting equipment, happen on services we work with, and those are covered below.
Tickets, passes, memberships and donations
We sell tickets, passes and memberships, and take donations, through Eventive, the festival's box office. Sometimes the Eventive checkout opens right on our home page, but the order is still with Eventive: your account, your receipt and your payment (processed by Stripe) all live there, and Eventive's terms apply to the purchase alongside these.
Prices are in Canadian dollars and include any applicable tax unless we say otherwise. Each event's refund and exchange rules are shown when you buy. If we have to cancel or move an event, we'll contact ticket holders with their options. Film ratings and age restrictions apply at the door, and a pass or ticket doesn't guarantee a seat once a venue is full, so please arrive early.
Memberships are governed by our bylaws, which you can request from us at any time.
Equipment rentals
Equipment rentals happen on our rental store at wamp.ezrentalstore.com. Every rental is covered by the rental agreement you accept there, which sets out things like deposits, care of the gear, late returns and damage. Member pricing depends on an active WAMP membership.
Festival listings and schedules
Film details, screening times and venues on our festival pages come from Eventive and are updated automatically, but programs change, sometimes at the last minute. We do our best to keep everything accurate, and the Eventive box office is always the final word on what's playing when.
Using what we publish
The text, photos, logo and design on this site belong to WAMP or are used with permission. Film posters, stills and trailers belong to the filmmakers and distributors, and sponsor logos belong to our sponsors. You're welcome to read, link to, and share our pages, and to quote short excerpts with credit. Please don't republish whole pages or images, use our logo without asking, download images in bulk, or put heavy automated load on the site. If you'd like to use something for a story, a class or a project, just ask. We're usually happy to help.
What you send us
When you use the contact form or apply for a job, please give accurate information that's yours to give, and only send files that are safe and relevant. We handle everything you send in line with our privacy policy. Submitting a job application doesn't guarantee an interview, and we'll only contact applicants we'd like to take further. Signing up for the newsletter means you agree to receive it until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email.
Playing fair
Please don't try to break into the site or its content system, interfere with how it works, scrape it at scale, send spam or abusive messages through our forms, pretend to be someone else, or upload anything harmful. If you find a security problem, we'd genuinely appreciate hearing about it privately first.
Other websites and embedded services
We link to and embed services we don't run, including Eventive, EZRentalStore, Mailchimp, YouTube, Vimeo, and the sites of our sponsors, funders and filmmakers. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we're not responsible for their content or how they operate.
Availability and accuracy
We work hard to keep the site up and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. The site is provided as is. Information may be out of date, and we may change or remove content at any time.
Limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, WAMP, its board, staff and volunteers aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses that come from using this site or relying on what's on it. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't be limited by law. Questions about a ticket, pass or donation should go to us or to Eventive first, and we'll help sort it out.
Which laws apply
These terms are governed by the laws of the Northwest Territories and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of the Northwest Territories.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we'll update the date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
